"Captain Doug Jowett (aka Captain Pine Tree) is a full-time striped bass and false albacore licensed Master Maine Guide and USCG licensed captain who guides in Maine and on Cape Cod.

He has taught fly fishing for L.L. Bean, is a pro staffer for Diamondback Fly Rods and founder of the Atlantic Canada Fly -Fishing Institute. Doug is an enthusiastic disciple of Spey/Double Handed fly use on coastal waters. Doug demonstrates fly casting at numerous sportsman shows and lectures throughout the northeast. Doug's writings are found in national magazines, regional publications, several newspapers and five books. He caught his first fly rod striped bass in 1962 from Maine's Mousam River at Parsons Beach on a size one Mickey Finn streamer fly using an cane rod of HDH weight.
